The Superstition Mountain area is a bit higher in elevation than the Phoenix/Scottsdale area and often provides climate temperatures a few degrees cooler. The highest point in the Superstitions is 6100' and occasionally gets a dusting of snow, which makes for a photographers delight when cacti and other landscape vegetation is coated with the white stuff.
